Formulation and evaluation of transdermal patches of leaf ethanol extract Lantana Camara Linn with ethyl cellulose-poly vinyl pyrolidone polymer variations

Lantana camara Linn is one of the plants that can help wound healing process because it contains phenolic, flavonoids, and alkaloids have antibacterial abilities against Staphylococcus epidermidis. but its use still very simple, therefore necessary to develop traditional medicinal preparations in transdermal patches with a combination EC (Ethyl Cellulose) PVP (Poly Vinyl Pyrolidone) polymers. This study aims see effect using ethyl cellulose polyvinyl pyrrolidone based on physical characteristics Formulation. leaf ethanol extract was obtained by maceration method 96% solvent. The patch formulation made 7 formulations EC: simple lattice design. Evaluation properties consisted weight test, thickness folding endurance loss drying, moisture uptake. It be concluded results evaluation preparation showed F1 best polymer variations PVP: PEG (200 mg: 250 50 mg) 1.2213 ± 0.040; 6.76 0.251; 310.33 6.80; drying 2.37 % ±0.36 absorption 3.68 ±0.68.
